Player Information:

Emmerson Boyce is a veteran football player with the Wigan Athletic FC in England, one of the members of the nation’s Premier League squads, where he wears number 17.  He has spent the last eleven years playing his way up through the middle leagues, constantly honing his skills and conditioning, and finally achieved the top levels of play when he signed with Wigan in 2006.  In a recent development, Boyce was contacted by the Barbados Football Association and invited to join their National Team, the Bajan Pride.  Eligible by virtue of his parent’s citizenship, Boyce jumped at the chance to earn some international experience.  His first appearance with the Pride was on the 26 of March, in 2008, against Dominica, another small Caribbean island nation.  Boyce’s play helped the Pride earn a 1-0 victory.  He now has two caps with the Pride.

Boyce was noticed for his play in various youth clubs early on.  The Luton Town Hatters were nearby, and they quickly signed him on in 1997, at the young age of 18.  After only one year of maturation, Boyce was ready for a leading role as a defender, and in his second year with the team he took 30 appearances.
